Las Vegas!

I'm on my way to Las Vegas for the annual Consumer Electronics Show.  This is the biggest show of the year and one I've always wanted to attend.  I've got a really busy schedule on Saturday and Sunday morning with meetings - but I hope to cruise around and check things out on Sunday.

The Packers are interviewing Wade Phillips for head coach.  I think he would be a good fit as long as Jim Bates stays on as Defensive Coordinator.  The Patriots are playing tomorrow and I hope they advance.  I've grown to like the Patriots over the past 4+ years here in Massachusetts.  Most of my buddies are Pat's fans so it's not hard to get into the playoff swing.  Still not my team - but maybe my second team - if there is such a thing.

Peter and Michael Rogal and I have a Tiger Musky Ice Fishing trip planned for next Saturday.  I have never fished this lake and the Muskies here are MUCH smaller than back home - I'm sure it will be fun - but it would be great to get a nice one through the ice here.  We've also scheduled our annual Wisconsin fishing trip for the last weekend in Sept.

Ice Fishing & Stuff!

I've been busy so it's been really hard to update the site.

I heard today that the Pack fired Mike Sherman.

I'm So Damn Busy!

I'm so busy I can't really can't pay attention.  I'm working on a bunch of projects and the weekends have been full of time for the kids.  I probably won't be doing an update until after Thanksgiving.

This week is Deer Season in Wisconsin - it makes me think of old times and makes me miss my homeland.

The Packers Win!

I'm glad the Packers finally got a victory.  I still haven't lost hope that they can take the division.  The team has actually looked good all season.  Just putting it all together for a victory has been hard I guess.  Well - the season shall come to end at some point but I can't help but think they could end it at 9-7.

The new running back Samkon Gado looks great.  I like his style and I've listened to all of his interviews.  He seems like a smart kid with a bright future.  I love it the Pack foster good people.

My buddy Peter is going in for back surgery today - I'm on the road so I can't swing by and see him - but I'm going to b-line it to the hospital when I get back home.  I'm glad he's going through this as he hasn't been feeling well since he hurt it.  I hope this works for him - like me - Peter hates going to the doctor.

The Musky Lure!

As you may or may not know - I took a guided Musky fishing trip with Peter Rogal and his son Michael in Wisconsin this year.  We had some great guides and some great fishing.  Mark Hintz of Chippewa was my great guide.  Mark had me test out a new lure made by the fine folks at Hawg Seekers Lures.  The lure is called the Hawg Teaser and it's just a great all around Musky bait.  You can work this thing every which way but Sunday.  My use of the prototype resulted in a new color design and the great guys at Hawg Seekers have given the huge honor of naming this new pattern after me.  Please drop these guys a line and support the great guys at Hawg Seekers.

Hunting - What Does It Mean!

Let me just say one thing first.  HUNTING ISN'T DANGEROUS!  I would like anyone to prove me otherwise.  Please provide me with statistical data if you wish to debate.  You will find that Hunting is safer than opening your refrigerator.  Typically hunters are highly experienced with the use of weapons - if you feel in danger simply being around a weapon I can't help you there - that stems from a lack of understanding and education - plain and simple.  It makes me really angry when people insist that weapons are dangerous.  They are no more or less dangerous than other household items.  For instance - if you are taking a bath and using a hair dryer at the same time you are an idiot and deserve to be shocked!  I'm not kidding with this example!  Please take these words to heart for I mean them.  Isn't it logical not to have electricity around water?  Why is that so logical?  It's because we have been trained to understand that water and electricity DO NOT MIX.  Do you remember when you were taught this?  Do you ever use electricity when there is a remote chance of cross population with a conductor?  The answer to that is no - when faced with that situation every one of us thinks of the electricity supply first.  Sure - a certain number of people are killed each year because of safety issues they should have observed.  Does this mean you shouldn't have electricity in the bathroom?  No - because you are careful and you take every precaution to make sure THIS WON'T HAPPEN TO YOU!

A lot of people don't understanding hunting.  They assume that hunting is violent and a bad influence on young children. For those never exposed to hunting it is violent.  I grew up hunting - it is far from violent to me and the millions of other people who hunt.   Sure - killing an animal is a hard thing to do and at times it seems like a waste or a shame.  It's not easy to take a life and not reflect on what that means.  For me - part of the hunt is the ritual of bringing you closer to the core instincts we have as humans.

Some people say that Hunting is cruel - why hurt the poor animal!  Do you eat meat?  If you do this should be the end of this discussion.  Ending the life of anything is not pretty.  I would suggest everyone take a tour of a slaughter house - or observe cattle prior to being loaded into cattle cars coming off the field.  I would much rather eat Venison shot with every intention of making a quick end than eat a steak derived from a processing plant.  If this is the part of hunting that bothers you I suggest you get in touch with a local vegan group and go organic.  Cruel is part the game of life - if you'd rather not watch it and let others do your dirty work - that's your choice - but every human who eats meat is one step away from "cruelty".

Packers are 1-7

Well - it's been a terrible season for The Green Bay Packers.  I think with this loss the hope of a Division Win are off.  They've been playing well all year - so I'm not sure how to comment here.  I love Brett Favre and I wish he could have one more championship before he retires.  Either way - I'm still the greatest Packer Fan Ever!  I've only been able to watch one game on TV here in the Northeast - but I've really come to enjoy the internet radio broadcasts.  I might prefer the radio broadcast to the TV version.  It's much more exciting listening and letting your brain fill in the detail.  I'll end this entry by saying I still believe The Pack have a few tricks up their sleeve.
